Dear friends and family,

This year I finally had the courage to sign up to the London Marathon! Training is going very well. I started from running almost no distance to now 21 (and plus!) km runs. I'm enjoying every minute of the training, including the lovely English rain - my constant companion during training…

Most importantly, I wanted to do it for a cause that is very personal to me - to raise funds for research to find a cure for type 1 Diabetes. Type 1 Diabetes is a life-threatening autoimmune disease that affects both children and adults. Millions of people around the world live with Diabetes and there is no way to prevent it, and at present, no cure.

My family has experienced first hand what it means to have type 1 Diabetes - my little brother was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes when he was only 4 years old - and we will do everything we can to help to find a cure!

Diabetes changes your life (and the lives of everyone around you). I have the utmost respect for the people who have to live with it  - there is no rest, but there is hope. The hope that a group of brilliant scientists will find a cure (they are so close!). But in order to do so, they need funds! That is where you and I step in – I would be extremely grateful if you could sponsor me in my efforts to complete the London Marathon in support of JDRF - a charity that works tirelessly to fund research to cure, treat and prevent type 1 Diabetes.

Thanks very much, even the smallest donation is appreciated.

Best wishes,
Maria

Faltan solamente 24 días para el maratón!!
